Antelope Study
Oil
Pale olive, chalk, and sandy cream hold the antelope in a field that feels half mural and half mirage, allowing the animal to emerge through hush rather than spectacle.
Curatorial note
Form is carried by tonal restraint rather than contour alone. The animal gathers out of scraped light, soft ground, and the patience of the brush.
Installation note
Give it daylight or a clean wash of neutral light so the pale register stays alive. It reads best after a denser blue canvas, where its restraint registers as decision.
