OFFRE SPÉCIALE

Inspired by a display encountered in a supermarket, this painting transforms an ordinary commercial arrangement into a direct confrontation with contemporary consumption. What appears at first as an everyday scene gradually reveals the uneasy relationship between industrial food production, marketing, and the increasing distance between what we consume and its living origin.

Curatorial note

The composition adopts the visual language of domesticated violence, where repetition transforms an unsettling image into something familiar and its value is redirected toward promotion. The insistent red labels function less as information than as visual commands, exposing the mechanisms through which attention itself becomes a commodity. The painting is not simply a critique of industrial farming; it also examines how supermarkets train our perception. By reproducing the mechanics of consumer attention while simultaneously exposing them, the work shifts its focus beyond food itself to the commercial systems that condition what we notice, what we ignore, and ultimately how we assign value.

Installation note

The work benefits from direct viewing at eye level, where the repetitive grid and striking promotional labels confront the viewer immediately. Positioned within the exhibition, it introduces a deliberate shift toward themes of consumption, commerce, and the visual culture of everyday life.
