White daisies, curled green roses, and oversized blue leaves rise from a patterned celadon vase against a field of uncompromising red.
Curatorial note
The red ground removes atmospheric distance and makes every pale form advance. Ornament on the vessel echoes the looping leaves, binding bouquet and container into one graphic structure.
Installation note
Give the red field a clean margin. It can serve as a chromatic hinge in the series, separating the softer cream studies from the orange and magenta works.
