A seal pup rises through vertical blue water and greenish reeds, its pale face catching the viewer while the surrounding strokes keep the space fluid and cold.

Curatorial note

The painting relies on suspension. The animal is clear, but the field around it keeps slipping between water, reflection, and forest-like depth.

Installation note

Give it clean vertical space so the falling blue bands can hold. It works as a bridge between the animal studies and the more atmospheric winter scenes.
